What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)?
It is a disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. These interruptions last 10 seconds or more when the back of the throat severely narrows or closes shut during sleep. While you are sleeping, the muscles which control the tongue and soft palate, hold the airway open. If those muscles relax too much, it causes the tongue and soft palate to block the airway and prevent breathing.

OSA poses a multitude of serious health risks like:
  • Irregular heart beat
  • High blood pressure
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Falling Asleep while Driving
  • Diabetes
